Becoming a New Creation

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

What is it that keeps us from being the new creation that Christ died for? We have been given the Holy Spirit. We have accepted Christ’s redemption. We have turned control of our lives over to Jesus Christ.

But have we?

The same old problem that has plagued us since birth continues to follow us like an old dry skin being sloughed off during molt. It is the sloughing off process that is intriguing. For some, it’s like an instant change. The old self falls away like chaff separated from wheat. For others, it’s more of a slow transformation, a gradual removal that occurs over seasons.
